The new Ani DiFranco album is a pretty quiet one. It is mostly just Ani, her guitar, an acoustic bass and strange electronica here and there. You won't get the usual high speed Ani guitar this time but instead it feels intimate and close and you get some pretty good songs.
I normally prefer Ani's faster songs but I must admit that I kinda like this album. If you are in the mood for slower and more sparsely arranged songs this album is a pretty good choice.
Never-the-less the over-all feeling is that it is a bit too quiet and needs some variation. ("To the Teeth" from 1999 is the best example of a perfect Ani album.)
